Examinations going on

Three times a year the children are tested in all subjects at school. Presently the kids are all busy studying and taking those tests. The tests are for about a week.

Uttom is doing better but is still at the Ma-O-Shishu (mother and child) Hospital. He remains in the intensive care unit although he is almost healthy again. They do not want to release him until he is 100% well, which we respect since he is now a patient at the hospital the third time! He has rewarded me and a few staff with a smile or two on his good days and has become used to the German lullaby I always sang to my own kids. Our son, Ruben is always telling me when he cries, to sing to him and often Uttom is comforted. I have gotten to know the nurses, Doctors, other patients and guards at the hospital and feel comfortable there. My heart breaks for the suffering Mothers, almost everyday at least one baby dies in the I.C.U. where Uttom is. I can hardly stand to hear the daily report as I know which one lays in which bed. The I.C.U. has 14 beds all in one room; the metal bed is for Mom and Baby. There are no other amenities beside a metal stand. There is nothing else. Bathrooms are outside.

Utom, our newest baby needs prayer again

Uttom was admitted again to the hospital, his third time in the one month we have had him. He is in the intensive care unit and is being fed through the nose and receiving oxygen. His weight is only 7 lbs. and he is 3 months old. Many of the hospital staff have asked us about his mother and father, all are amazed that he is an orphan yet receives so many foreign visitors and is surrounded by people who love him. We go to great lengths for a precious child that has no idea who we even are. The nurses asked me, Why are you here in Bangladesh instead of living in America? I pointed to Uttom and said, This is why.
Please pray for Uttom he is so sick and needs God immediately.
