Home of Love is located in the southern part of Bangladesh in a port city called Chittagong. Chittagong is right on the Bay of Bengal and is home to about 4 million people making it the second largest city in the country. The orphanage is situated on 9 acr
es of beautiful lush farm land. We have 3 ponds stocked full of fish. The drive from the city is a picturesque brightly-colored, loud experience. The road is narrow, jarring, jolting, and loud horns beep from all directions. We share the lanes with cows, water buffalos, goats, pedestrians, buses, trucks, rickshaws, hand-pulled flat-bed rickshaws, bicycles, banana stands, tea stalls, playing kids, vegetable markets, brick breakers (people), sweepers (people), and MANY other interesting sights. Upon turning on our road, we drive down a skinny one lane path with bamboo houses on both sides. The courtyards of these shacks are filled with naked children and farm animals. As the path ends, a surprise awaits with an open area where ponds, rice fields, and smart new buildings fill the village skyline.
